MEPcontent Product Line Placer for Valves

Editor's Note: Yesterday we posted about 6 new apps forthcoming from MEPcontent. Today the first of these apps was commercially released.

From the MEPcontent website:

BIM App for designing and placing Valves in Revit

January 17, 2018

Today, we add another app for MEP engineers, the MEPcontent Product Line Placer for Valves. A great stand-alone app for Revit which can also be combined with the MEPcontent Product Line Placer for Piping. Easily filter on manufacturer, diameter, valve category, or technical properties. Select and place valves in your Revit project and work directly with localized and up-to-date manufacturer specific products.

The MEPcontent Product Line Placer for Valves app will give you access to valve series from 6 leading manufacturers (Belimo, Econosto, Oventrop, TA, Victaulic and Watts Industries) and this number will increase in the future. Select valves based on pressure stage and have fittings and flanges added automatically. Content is optimized and localized by region including article number, GTIN, manufacturer data and category. Use the diameter from the pipes you use in your model and see what valves are available to fit with your piping system.

Why would you as a busy draftsmen, MEP engineer, designer or modeler care?

The app can save you a lot of time compared to other sophisticated modelling software. You only have to use the clear app interface to select and place valves in your Revit project without a dozen of buttons and options to choose from. The app can be combined with other MEPcontent apps such as the MEPcontent Product Line Placer for Piping, as well as Stabiplan's Export and Import Excel app.

How does it work?

Start drawing pipes from your favorite manufacturers like Georg Fischer, SANHA or Pegler Yorkshire. Add valves with this new app from the above mentioned six valve manufacturers. Export your project data from Revit into Excel, adjust the data, share it with purchasers or management (who perhaps do not have Revit) and import it back into Revit. A true time saving process!

In the free version of the Product Line Placer, you can select Oventrop valves. Both balancing valves and ball valves from Hydrocontrol and Optibal are made available in this version. The MEPcontent Product Line Placer for Valves can be downloaded and tried for free on store.mepcontent.com. You can also watch a short video on the store to see how the app works. If you want to gain access to the product lines and series from the other brands, upgrade the app to get the full version (for €25 / month or equivalent in £ or $) and switch between product lines to get more manufacturer specific content.

Read more here about the extra product lines and series made available in the full app.

Downloading this app only takes two minutes. Please sign in with your MEPcontent credentials or register for free to start downloading and using this app for Revit.
